Elemental Daily Spread (4 Card) – Tarot Card Spreads

 tarot card spreads

Of all the tarot card spreads, this one, that I built myself, is fairly easy to follow. It works based on the relationship or permutations of the elements. It’s a snap shot of the energy that surrounds and influences our world. It is read from right (east) to the left (west) following the path of the sun from sunrise to sunset.

The first position is fire. It is our beginning or theme to our tarot card spread. The element of fire is all about our actions. It is what determines our desire and where we place our energy force. It is about our intent. All the actions in the fire position are in the past. It is how we are motivated or inspired to move forward.

The second position is air. Air is our mental area. What do we think about our situation? It is our current conscious state where we consider options and communicate with the outside world based on what we know. Air is our decision-making process. It fits neutrally between fire and water without conflict.

The third position is water. Water is where our feelings reside. It is our reactive unconscious state where our response is relative to our understanding. How do we relate to the outside world? How does the inside world reflect the outside world? Water is our psychic state. It is how we reach into the unknown. It is neutral with air and earth.

The fourth position is earth. Earth is our potential future. It is what we manifest into reality. It is our results or potential results. It is the material world. It is health and wealth.

Positions one & two are active, while positions three & four are passive. One & two give while three & four receive.

If all four elements are present in their appropriate positions then the situation is neutral. It is usually the case that there are elements missing or in a different order providing the reader with a wealth of information. Rows can be added above and/or below the original line to give the reader a more detailed view. Many times I add a row below to indicate the underlying energy and a row (or two) above to represent plans, aspirations or outside influences. The most positions I have placed is 4 across by 4 down. My first row being third row down. The top right would be fire of fire and the bottom left would be earth of earth.

I have found this spread to be one of my favorite tarot card spreads and a great daily read.

Very cool spread! I take pleasure in studying spreads others create that make me think. And this one definitely does that! I saw that you doing readings by Skype. How does that work exactly?

  8. Tater Scot says:

Thanks for your question, Trish. Skype readings work like this: After you send your payment through Paypal, I will email you to set up the time for your reading. At the scheduled time, you connect to me @ skypepsychic with a Skype video call. During the call, you won’t be looking at my face, but instead, at the cards, as I place them out and explain them to you. The great thing about Skype is that you can even have Reading parties with a Skype video call and get readings for your friends, as well. I hope this helps.

  14. Carolyn says:

I have been a tarot reader/psychic for more than 25 years. I have used probably a hundred, maybe more, different types of spreads. I have made a few of my own, as well. But this spread is the first one that I have ever seen that gives such great info with just 4 cards but can expanded up to 8, 12, & 16 cards for greater depth. I assume you are a Gemini, because this spread is so flexible, only a Gemini, could come up with it. You’re surely 1 in a million, Tater!

  15. Tater Scot says:

Thanks, Carolyn! You are correct, I am a Gemini! :)
